ThinkingAbout™ designed and developed the new Mirage Corporate Brand Portal with the goal of showcasing the excellence and innovation of Mirage, a leading company in the production of porcelain stoneware surfaces for architecture and interior design. The site was designed to offer an intuitive and engaging digital experience that best represents the brand's identity and the quality of its products. Thanks to a modern and functional design, the site allows industry professionals to easily and quickly explore Mirage's solutions, facilitating the selection of the most suitable materials for their projects.

A digital brand platform

The design of the new platform played a key role in repositioning the company online. The information architecture and user experience were redesigned to create a new digital experience that now serves as the primary connection point with contractors and architectural or interior design firms. The platform is a modern tool that works in perfect synergy with the Brand's ecosystem, integrating seamlessly with DAM and CRM systems.

Mirage.it received the German Design Award in the "Excellent Communication Design" category and a Bronze Lovie Award in the "Best Practice" category.

UX & information architecture

The information architecture has been entirely reimagined to enable new navigation models, more effective for the target audience of designers, architects, and interior designers. The company addresses the needs of its stakeholders by expanding and presenting its offerings in a more straightforward and direct manner. During navigation, users have the opportunity to begin a personalized journey, engaging with the company and its products by creating custom boards or requesting professional consultation.

Content production

We were also engaged by Mirage to oversee the art direction and production of new photo, video, and 3D rendering content. We conducted on-site shoots and created numerous renderings, leveraging the rendering capabilities of Unreal Engine.

Tech & perfomance 

The front end was developed as an SSR app using VueJS and NuxtJS frameworks. Pages and components were structured to emphasize accessibility and semantics, with styling crafted through TailwindCSS and high-performance animations powered by the GSAP animation platform. The combined use of lazy loading, CDN, and next-gen media formats grants the site high levels of performance and smoothness.
WordPress was implemented as a headless CMS, with tailored population interfaces created through Advanced Custom Fields, feeding a set of custom APIs and utilizing smart caching to optimize performance.

System integration 

The product catalog, sourced from Thron, the PIM and DAM used by the company, was synchronized with the back end through a custom integration aimed at achieving real-time data updates, supporting internationalization with dedicated languages, markets, and products. Regarding lead generation activities, contact forms, the newsletter, and the store locator were integrated with the company’s Salesforce account. Media not sourced from the DAM are automatically uploaded from the CMS to Cloudinary CDN and integrated into the site via Cloudinary API.
